Coal Production and Dispatch Report for May 2025

In May 2025, coal production from Captive and Commercial Mines reached 16.432 million tonnes, marking a 24.57% increase from May 2024. Coal dispatch also rose to 17.499 million tonnes, a 13.763% increase year-on-year. The month saw the acquisition of three key clearances and the signing of vesting orders for six coal blocks across various states, reflecting the Ministry of Coal's commitment to enhancing production and supporting India's self-reliance goals.
