On August 20, 2025, Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi and AWWA President Mrs. Sunita Dwivedi pledged to donate their organs, significantly boosting the AORTA initiative aimed at promoting organ donation within the Armed Forces. The event highlighted the importance of organ donation as a service to humanity and recognized healthcare workers' contributions. Over 26,000 personnel have pledged to donate organs in a single campaign, showcasing the Indian Army's commitment to this cause.
