Coastal Action Plan and Deep Ocean Mission Discussed in Puducherry

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh and Puducherry LG K. Kailashnathan met to discuss a comprehensive coastal action plan focusing on sustainable development, coastal management, and the Deep Ocean Mission. The plan aims to address coastal erosion, promote deep sea fishing, and explore seabed minerals, enhancing India's marine economy. The first phase of the Deep Ocean Mission is set for sea trials in early 2026, with a goal of establishing a robust underwater presence by 2027, leveraging indigenous technology for economic growth while maintaining environmental balance.
