Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering to enhance India's shipbuilding capabilities. This partnership aims to utilize CSL's new dry dock for constructing large vessels and establish a Block Fabrication Facility in Kochi with a ₹3,700 crore investment, creating around 2,000 direct jobs. Additionally, CSL plans to invest ₹15,000 crore in a new shipyard in Tamil Nadu, generating approximately 10,000 jobs. The initiatives align with India's Maritime Vision 2030 and 2047.
