Commissioning of ICGS Akshar into Indian Coast Guard

The Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS) Akshar, the second of eight Adamya-class Fast Patrol Vessels, was commissioned on October 4, 2025, in Karaikal, Puducherry. Built by Goa Shipyard Limited with over 60% indigenous content, the 51-meter vessel features advanced technology, including a maximum speed of 27 knots and a range of 1,500 nautical miles. It is equipped with modern weaponry and systems to enhance operational efficiency. The ship symbolizes India's commitment to maritime security and the 'Make in India' initiative.
