Commissioning of ICGS Akshar into Indian Coast Guard

The Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS) Akshar, the second of eight Adamya-class Fast Patrol Vessels, was commissioned on October 4, 2025, in Karaikal, Puducherry. Built by Goa Shipyard Limited with over 60% indigenous content, the 51-meter vessel features advanced technology, including a maximum speed of 27 knots and a range of 1,500 nautical miles.
