INS Ikshak, the third of the Survey Vessel Large (SVL) class, was commissioned into the Indian Navy on November 6, 2025, at Naval Base, Kochi. The ceremony, led by Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, showcased the ship's advanced hydrographic capabilities and its role in humanitarian assistance. Notably, it is the first SVL designed with dedicated women's accommodation, reflecting the Navy's commitment to inclusivity. The ship enhances India's maritime safety and strategic reach, marking a significant step in indigenous shipbuilding and hydrographic survey capabilities.
