Conservation and Celebration of Chola Temples
The Ministry of Culture, along with the Archaeological Survey of India, continues the preservation and conservation of three notable Chola temples: Brihadeeswara in Thanjavur, Brihadeeswara in Gangaikonda Cholapuram, and Airavateswarar in Darasuram. Over the past three years, significant funds have been allocated for restoration and visitor facilities. In addition, the Ministry observed the millennium of Rajendra Chola-I's maritime expedition, marked by cultural events showcasing traditional Tamil performances.
