Credit Facility to Women Self Help Groups

The Ministry of Rural Development reported that cumulative loans disbursed to women Self Help Groups under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) have reached Rs. 11,07,479.60 crores, with an outstanding amount of Rs. 2,99,833.35 crores. The government has implemented various measures to enhance access to credit for rural women, including annual master circulars from the Reserve Bank of India and NABARD, coordination meetings with banks, and the establishment of a dedicated portal for monitoring loan repayments. The current Non-Performing Assets (NPA) rate for these loans is 1.76%.
