Cyber Crime Targeting Children: Government Initiatives and Statistics
The Ministry of Home Affairs has reported a significant rise in cyber crimes against children in India from 2018 to 2022, with a total of 1,823 cases in 2022. The government has established the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) and the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal to enhance reporting and awareness. Various initiatives, including training sessions and awareness campaigns, are being conducted, especially in North Eastern states, to educate children about digital safety and cyber hygiene.
