Dam Rehabilitation and Improvement Project (DRIP) Update

The Ministry of Jal Shakti has identified 736 dams across 19 states for rehabilitation and safety enhancement under the Dam Rehabilitation and Improvement Project (DRIP) Phase II and III, with a total budget of Rs. 10,211 crores for the period 2021-2031. The project is co-financed by the World Bank and AIIB, focusing on dam safety, Emergency Action Plans, and community preparedness. As of June 2025, significant expenditures and rehabilitation works have been reported, with ongoing technical assistance and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
