Data Users Conference on PLFS Highlights Advances in Labour Market Data
The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation organized a Data User's Conference on the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) on August 28, 2025, in New Delhi. The conference aimed to enhance dialogue between data producers and users, discuss innovations in PLFS, and explore the use of high-frequency labour market indicators for evidence-based policymaking. Over 200 participants, including researchers, policymakers, and international representatives, attended the event. Key discussions included the introduction of the Occupation Shortage Index and the importance of PLFS data in addressing workforce dynamics and guiding policy initiatives.
