Deadline for Switching to Unified Pension Scheme Announced

The Ministry of Finance has set September 30, 2025, as the final date for eligible Central Government employees and past retirees under the National Pension System (NPS) to opt for the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS). A one-time, one-way switch facility from UPS to NPS is also available under specific conditions, allowing employees to revert to NPS but not back to UPS. Employees are encouraged to make their decisions before the deadline to ensure smooth processing of their requests.
