Decline in Left-Wing Extremism in India
The Government of India has reported a significant decline in Left-Wing Extremism (LWE) due to a comprehensive National Policy and Action Plan initiated in 2015. This plan includes security measures, development initiatives, and rehabilitation policies for former LWE cadres. Since 2014-15, substantial funds have been allocated for operational support, infrastructure development, and community welfare in LWE-affected states, particularly Jharkhand. The number of violent incidents and affected districts has drastically decreased, indicating improved law and order and socio-economic conditions in these regions.
