Delhi Initiates Cloud Seeding Pilot Project to Combat Pollution

The Department of Environment, Government of Delhi, in collaboration with IIT Kanpur, has launched a pilot project to evaluate cloud seeding as a potential method for pollution mitigation in the Delhi NCR. Though currently in trial stages, the project aims to offer an emergency solution during high pollution episodes. Various efforts are concurrent to improve air quality forecasting and source apportionment of PM2.5, supported by the Central Pollution Control Board and other research institutions.
