Delhi-NCR Takes Major Step Towards Dust-Free Roads with New MoUs
The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution announced a significant initiative aimed at reducing road dust pollution in the National Capital Region (NCR) through the signing of four Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs). These MoUs involve collaboration between the Public Works Departments of Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan, with technical support provided by CSIR-Central Road Research Institute and the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi. The initiative, witnessed by Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav, aims to implement a Standard Framework and Road Asset Management System for creating dust-free and sustainable urban roads. The project encompasses space standards, dust suppression through greening, and road maintenance using new technologies.
