Delhi Unauthorised Colonies Set for Historic Regularisation on 'As-is Where-is' Basis
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has announced a landmark decision to regularise 1511 unauthorised colonies in Delhi on an 'as-is where-is' basis, providing legal ownership and facilitating urban inclusion for nearly 45 lakh residents. This move follows the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri - Unauthorised Colonies in Delhi Awas Adhikar Yojana (PM-UDAY) launched in 2019. Despite challenges in layout plan approvals, this development seeks to address historical land rights issues under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
