Delhi's New TOD Policy: A Vision for Sustainable and Affordable Urban Development

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has unveiled the Regulations for Transit Oriented Development (TOD) and Charges, 2026, aimed at fostering affordable housing and sustainable urban growth in Delhi. The policy builds on the Master Plan of Delhi 2021 to promote high-density, mixed-use developments along metro and RRTS corridors, covering 207 sq.km. It introduces significant changes to enhance Ease of Doing Business, including simplified approval processes and charges, and greater flexibility for land use, all under the leadership of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
