Department of Posts and BSNL Sign MoU for SIM Sales and Mobile Recharge

On September 17, 2025, the Department of Posts (DoP) and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in New Delhi to enhance BSNL's mobile connectivity across India. The agreement allows DoP to utilize its extensive network of over 1.65 lakh Post Offices to sell BSNL SIM cards and mobile recharge services, aiming to improve accessibility for citizens, especially in rural areas. This initiative supports the goals of Digital India and financial inclusion, with a successful proof of concept already implemented in Assam.
