Development Initiatives in North Eastern Region

The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER) has undertaken significant initiatives to enhance infrastructure and connectivity in the North Eastern Region (NER) of India. Key developments include the construction of over 16,207 km of National Highways, the sanctioning of 12 railway projects totaling 777 km, and the completion of numerous road works and bridges under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. Additionally, efforts to improve internet connectivity and mobile services have been made, with 6,355 Gram Panchayats becoming service-ready under the BharatNet project. The PM-DevINE scheme, with a budget of Rs. 6,600 crore, aims to fund infrastructure and social development projects.
