Development of Fisheries Infrastructure under PMMSY

The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying has approved fisheries development proposals worth Rs. 21,274.16 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) over the last five years. This includes a central share of Rs. 9,189.79 crore. The initiative aims to enhance aquaculture through integrated aqua-parks, which provide comprehensive infrastructure for farming, processing, and market access, ultimately boosting farmers' income and reducing post-harvest losses. A total of 11 integrated aqua parks have been approved at a cost of Rs. 682.60 crore.
