Development of National Waterways in Tamil Nadu

The Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways has outlined the development plans for National Waterways in Tamil Nadu. These include the Buckingham Canal, River Bhavani, River Kaveri-Kollidam, River Pazhyar, and River Ponniyar. The Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) has completed feasibility studies for these waterways and allocated Rs.5.23 Crore for updating the Detailed Project Report for NW-4, including Buckingham Canal. Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal shared these details in a written reply to the Lok Sabha.
