Development of Specialized Firefighting Suits Under NTTM

The National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM) has initiated a project for the development of specialized firefighting suits, awarded to the Northern India Textile Research Association (NITRA). This indigenous suit is cost-effective and matches the properties of imported versions. The NTTM has approved 168 research projects aimed at reducing import dependency and promoting exports, with technical textiles exports reaching INR 24,732.68 Crore in FY 2024-25, marking a 15.53% growth from the previous year.
