DFS Hosts Workshop on Insolvency and Bankruptcy (Amendment) Act, 2026

The Department of Financial Services (DFS) under India's Ministry of Finance conducted a workshop in New Delhi to discuss the implications of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy (Amendment) Act, 2026. The event, attended by officials from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India, legal experts, and representatives from financial institutions, aimed to strengthen the understanding and implementation of the latest amendments. Over 8,800 resolution processes were completed by December 2025, recovering ₹4.11 lakh crore. The amendments are expected to enhance the insolvency resolution framework by addressing group and cross-border insolvencies, improving creditor processes, and promoting timely resolution of stressed assets.
