Digital Agriculture Mission Enhances Farmer Support

The Government of India has approved the Digital Agriculture Mission, aimed at creating a Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) for agriculture. This initiative includes the Agri Stack, which consists of foundational registries such as Geo-Referenced Village Maps, Crop Sown Registry, and Farmers Registry. As of August 2025, over 7 million Farmer IDs have been generated, facilitating access to benefits like credit and insurance for farmers. The initiative aims to provide reliable crop-related information and enable farmers to engage in the digital economy.
