Digital Connectivity Progress in India

As of May 2025, 97.65% of India's villages have mobile connectivity, with 96.80% having 4G access. The government is enhancing digital infrastructure through the Digital Bharat Nidhi (DBN) and BharatNet projects, aiming to provide high-speed internet and 4G services in rural areas. By June 2025, over 18,739 4G sites have been established, and 2,14,325 Gram Panchayats are service-ready for broadband. The government also plans to provide FTTH connections to all government secondary schools in rural areas to improve digital access.
