The Digital India BHASHINI Division under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology partnered with the Survey of India to enhance toponymic data digitisation using AI technologies. The Memorandum of Understanding aims to create a comprehensive and multilingual toponymic dataset, supporting the National Geospatial Policy by converting place names from audio to structured digital text.
