Digital Transformation Boosts Institutional Deliveries and Antenatal Care in India
The Ministry of Women and Child Development reports significant improvements in institutional deliveries and antenatal care in India, attributed to the adoption of digital platforms and Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) systems in executing the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY). According to the National Family Health Survey, institutional deliveries increased from 78.9% to 88.6% and antenatal care from 83.5% to 93.9%. The PMMVY has embraced a paperless operation, simplified mobile app forms, and Aadhaar-based biometric verifications, ensuring efficient benefit distributions. Concurrently, Mission Poshan 2.0 is addressing malnutrition through community awareness and outreach events, engaging Anganwadi workers across India to promote nutrition and health awareness effectively.
