Discovery of Complex Hydrocarbons in Young Stellar Disk
Astronomers have revealed new insights into planet formation by observing complex hydrocarbons in a young star system, T Chamaeleontis, using the James Webb Space Telescope. The study, conducted by the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, found Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) in the star's disk after part of its inner wall collapsed, allowing ultraviolet light to reveal these molecules typically hidden from view.
