DoT Enhances Telecom Measures for Cyclone Ditwah Preparedness
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has initiated extensive measures to ensure resilience and continued operation of telecom networks in anticipation of Cyclone Ditwah. A 24×7 control room has been established to maintain telecom connectivity and handle coordination with service providers, district administrations, and State Disaster Management Authorities in the regions likely to be impacted. All Telecom Service Providers have been instructed to ensure network operations remain uninterrupted with adequate resources and responsive field teams. Testing for Intra Circle Roaming and Cell Broadcast functionalities have been completed to ensure communication continuity as per SOP-2020.
