DoT Prepares Telecom Services for Cyclone Montha

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has implemented extensive measures to ensure the resilience of telecom networks in anticipation of Cyclone Montha, which is expected to affect coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. A 24×7 control room has been set up in Vijayawada to monitor operations and coordinate with service providers. Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) are instructed to maintain uninterrupted services, ensure fuel reserves, and deploy emergency response teams. The DoT has also completed necessary testing for Intra Circle Roaming and Cell Broadcast to ensure communication continuity during emergencies.
