DoT Reduces Telecom Security Test Fees by 95%

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has announced a significant reduction of up to 95% in security test evaluation fees for telecom and ICT products, effective August 1, 2025. This new fee structure aims to ease the compliance burden on manufacturers, particularly MSMEs, and stimulate local innovation. The revised fees for various equipment groups have been drastically lowered, and government R&D institutes will be exempt from fees until March 31, 2028. The DoT has also simplified the compliance process for specialized and end-of-life telecom products, aligning testing requirements with international standards to enhance the security of India's telecom infrastructure.
