Dr. K. S. Somashekhar Appointed as Secretary in the Rajya Sabha Secretariat
Dr. K. S. Somashekhar has been appointed Secretary in the Rajya Sabha Secretariat by Hon’ble Chairman, Rajya Sabha, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, effective April 18, 2026. With a career starting in 1993, Dr. Somashekhar has gained extensive experience in parliamentary interpretation, administration, and committee work. He has held key positions as Additional Secretary, Joint Secretary, and Director, and has served in the Government of Karnataka, as well as represented India at international parliamentary forums. He is a Ph.D. holder in Literature and speaks five languages, enhancing his administrative and academic competence for his new role.
