DRDO and IAF Successfully Complete Maiden Flight Trial of TARA Weapon
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) alongside the Indian Air Force (IAF) have successfully executed the first flight trial of the Tactical Advanced Range Augmentation (TARA) weapon off the coast of Odisha. This indigenous glide weapon system is designed to convert unguided warheads into precision-guided weapons, enhancing their lethality and accuracy against ground targets. The TARA system, developed by Research Centre Imarat (RCI) in collaboration with other DRDO labs and Indian industries, marks a significant step in India’s defence capabilities.
