DRDO Conducts Advanced Ejection System Test for Fighter Aircrafts

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) of India successfully carried out a high-speed rocket-sled test for fighter aircraft escape systems at Chandigarh's Rail Track Rocket Sled facility. The test confirmed the effective operation of canopy severance and ejection sequencing essential for aircrew recovery. By simulating real pilot conditions using an Anthropomorphic Test Dummy, the evaluation included capturing critical data on loads and accelerations. Collaborating with Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), this accomplishment places India among the elite nations with sophisticated ejection system testing capabilities. Acknowledging the successful demonstration, Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh and DRDO Chairman Dr. Samir V. Kamat lauded the achievement as pivotal for India's self-reliance in defense technology.
