DRDO Conducts Successful Flight-Tests of Integrated Air Defence Weapon System
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully conducted the maiden flight-tests of the Integrated Air Defence Weapon System (IADWS) off the coast of Odisha on August 23, 2025. The IADWS is a multi-layered air defence system that includes indigenous Quick Reaction Surface to Air Missiles (QRSAM), Advanced Very Short Range Air Defence System (VSHORADS) missiles, and a high-power laser-based Directed Energy Weapon (DEW). During the tests, multiple targets, including high-speed drones, were engaged and destroyed, demonstrating the system's capabilities. The successful tests were praised by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and DRDO officials, highlighting the advancement of India's air defence capabilities.
