DRI Busts Cross-Border Gold Smuggling Racket in West Bengal

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), in a significant operation, dismantled a gold smuggling syndicate along the Indo-Bangladesh border in West Bengal, seizing 24 kg of foreign-origin gold worth ₹34 crore. Seven individuals were arrested, with the gold cleverly hidden in specially tailored belts worn around their waists. This operation highlights the ongoing issue of cross-border smuggling in the region.
