DRI Disrupts Major Gold Smuggling Syndicate in Mumbai

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has successfully dismantled a significant gold-smuggling syndicate in Mumbai during 'Operation Bullion Blaze.' The operation led to the seizure of 11.88 kg of gold and 8.72 kg of silver, with 11 individuals arrested, including the mastermind of the operation. The syndicate was involved in smuggling gold into India, melting it in covert furnaces, and selling it in the grey market. The DRI aims to combat organized smuggling networks that undermine government revenue and market stability.
