DRI Seizes 3 Lakh E-Cigarettes Worth Rs. 120 Crore in Smuggling Crackdown

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has seized approximately 3 lakh electronic cigarettes and vapes worth over Rs. 120 crore in a significant crackdown on a smuggling network operating in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Delhi, and West Bengal. The illegal consignment, believed to be sourced from China, was apprehended following specific intelligence and was concealed under mis-declared goods like furniture and metal chair parts. This operation is part of enforcing the Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes Act, 2019 in India.
