DRI Seizes Smuggled Cigarettes Worth Rs. 14.74 Crore in Mizoram

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) conducted operations in Mizoram, seizing 73.7 lakh sticks of smuggled foreign origin cigarettes valued at Rs. 14.74 crore. The operations, named 'OPERATION FILTER OUT', led to the arrest of three individuals and uncovered multiple godowns used for storage. The cigarettes were found to lack mandatory health warnings and were traced back to smuggling routes from Myanmar.
