DRI Seizes Smuggled Firecrackers Worth ₹4.82 Crore

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has successfully intercepted a smuggling attempt involving 46,640 pieces of Chinese-origin firecrackers valued at ₹4.82 crore at Nhava Sheva port. The operation, part of 'Operation Fire Trail', led to the arrest of a key suspect and revealed the smuggling syndicate's modus operandi. The import of firecrackers is restricted under Indian law, posing risks to public safety and national security.
