The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has exposed a gold smuggling syndicate in Ahmedabad, seizing 1.3 kg of 24K gold worth ₹1.62 crore from a passenger. Four individuals, including airline staff, were arrested. The syndicate is believed to have smuggled gold worth ₹16 crore in over 10 instances in the past two months, with operations linked to airline personnel.
