DRI Uncovers Major Customs Fraud in Luxury Furniture Imports

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has dismantled a large-scale customs fraud involving the importation of luxury furniture, revealing a network that undervalued goods by 70% to 90%, leading to an estimated customs duty evasion of ₹30 crore. The investigation involved multiple arrests and highlighted the use of dummy importers and fabricated invoices to misdeclare goods.
