e-Shram Portal Achieves Over 31 Crore Registrations for Unorganised Workers

The Ministry of Labour and Employment in India has successfully registered over 31.48 crore unorganized workers on its e-Shram portal as of January 26, 2026. Launched on August 26, 2021, the e-Shram portal is designed to create a comprehensive national database of unorganized workers, providing them with a Universal Account Number (UAN). The initiative integrates various social security schemes into a single platform, enhancing access for workers through self-registration, assisted services, and a mobile application launched in February 2025.
