Eklavya Model Residential Schools Update

The Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Shri Durgadas Uikey, provided details in Rajya Sabha regarding the status of Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) across various states and Union Territories. A total of 728 EMRS have been approved, with 722 sanctioned, 479 functional, and 235 under construction. The Ministry of Finance has sanctioned 38,480 teaching and non-teaching posts for these schools, with a recruitment process already underway for 10,391 positions. The initiative also emphasizes the importance of regional language proficiency for teachers.
