The Election Commission of India has introduced its 30th initiative to streamline the counting of Postal Ballots, aiming to reduce delays and enhance clarity. This follows 29 previous initiatives aimed at improving the electoral process. The counting of Postal Ballots will now be completed before the penultimate round of EVM/VVPAT counting, ensuring uniformity. The Commission has also mandated sufficient resources for counting to prevent delays, especially with the increase in postal ballots due to home voting initiatives for persons with disabilities and senior citizens.
