Electrification of Households Under SAUBHAGYA Scheme
The Government of India launched the SAUBHAGYA scheme in October 2017 to provide electricity connections to un-electrified households in rural and urban areas. The scheme was completed by March 31, 2022, electrifying approximately 2.86 crore households. The government continues to support electrification through the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) and the New Solar Power Scheme, with significant funds allocated for further electrification efforts.
