Empowering Millions: Jan Shikshan Sansthan's Impact from 2018-2025

The Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS) Scheme, under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, has successfully trained over 32.5 lakh individuals across India between 2018 and 2025. This government-backed initiative focuses on enhancing the skills of non-literates, neo-literates, and school dropouts to boost household incomes through self or wage employment. With a strong emphasis on women, SCs, STs, OBCs, and minorities, 83% of the beneficiaries are women. The scheme aligns with local market demands and integrates with other governmental initiatives like Atmanirbhar Bharat and ODOP to promote entrepreneurship and skill enhancement. Maharashtra alone has seen over 2.6 lakh individuals trained under this scheme. Despite no new proposals currently under consideration, JSS continues to receive significant government funding to maintain consistent training delivery and standard alignment with national skill qualification frameworks.
