Enhancements in Governance of Multi-State Cooperative Societies: New Amendments Introduced

The Ministry of Cooperation, overseen by Union Minister for Home and Cooperation Shri Amit Shah, has announced new amendments to enhance governance and transparency in multi-State cooperative societies. These changes, under the Multi-State Cooperative Societies (MSCS) (Amendment) Act & Rules, 2023, include the establishment of a Cooperative Election Authority, appointment of a Co-operative Ombudsman, and the introduction of concurrent audits as some of the key measures to protect depositor and member rights.
