Enhancing Cooperative Development in Odisha Through Targeted Initiatives
Since its establishment in July 2021, the Ministry of Cooperation has implemented significant initiatives aimed at enhancing cooperative development in Odisha, aligning with the "Sahakar-se-Samriddhi" vision. Key measures include improved governance of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), introduction of diversified business activities, and computerization initiatives. Financial disbursements by the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) have supported various cooperative sectors, including marketing, service co-ops, dairy, fisheries, and grain storage. New frameworks like Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) are set to improve market linkages, and the "White Revolution 2.0" targets increased dairy productivity by promoting cooperative involvement. The ministry's efforts also extend to bolstering cooperatives' economic transparency and ensuring infrastructural development, such as decentralized grain storage to reduce waste and optimize farmer incomes.
