Ensuring Land Rights for Tribal Communities
The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has been actively implementing the Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers Recognition of Forest Rights Act 2006 (FRA) to safeguard the rights of tribal communities. As of May 31, 2025, over 5 million claims have been filed, with nearly 2.5 million titles distributed. The Ministry is focused on preventing wrongful evictions and ensuring that eligible tribal families receive their rightful land titles through various initiatives and financial support for state-level implementation.
